The Nova Scotia EMS system is pretty similar to the New Brunswick and Prince-Edward Island one. The province has contracted MEDAVIE to manage their provincial ground and air ambulances services. Nova Scotia is the only atlantic province to have a Critical Care ambulance parked in the Halifax Region to replace helicopters when the weather is not accomodating them to fly.
